Outdoor Edge Living Project lives on the island of Ios in the Cyclades. The name of the island is said to come either from the characteristic flowers Ia, or from the Phoenician word Ios, which means pile of stones. The design is adapted, harmonized and at the same time inspired by the plasticity and austerity of the Cycladic architecture. The aim of the project is its integration in the special place and the emphasis on outdoor living. The twelve suites are located based on their optimal orientation to the unobstructed view of the Aegean Sea. The main tools of the synthesis are the light, the shadow, the Cycladic white, the use of natural materials and contrasts, in order to provide a modern and yet calm and intimate environment with a high degree of privacy during the stay. The historicity of Cycladic culture is reflected in interior design and attributes to it architectural forms, such as arches and forms inspired by cycladic art.
